"The Sexiest of Palsies"
From ATX to LA to NY: UT grad Zach Anner's travel series Rollin' with Zachpremieres tonight on the Oprah Winfrey Network
Zach Anner took the Internet by storm back in June, when his audition tape for “Your OWN Show: Oprah’s Search for the Next TV Star” went viral and people from all around the world began rooting for him.
Months later, Anner and co-contestant Kristina Kuzmic-Crocco were announced as the winners of the reality show competition. Tonight, Anner will finally get to share his dream of becoming the host of his own travel show with the rest of the world.
Anner, who attended The University of Texas at Austin, has cerebral palsy — but he does not let that restrict him. His website describes how he once "exploited his condition to get to the front of the line at theme parks,” and it’s this upbeat, humorous outlook that helped him win over the hearts of contest voters (and will definitely make his new show worth watching).
In Rollin’ with Zach, Anner will be traveling coast to coast, hitting up major cities along the way to experience everything from surfing to being a contestant on The Price is Right to creating his very own milkshake, which he cleverly named “Zach Anner’s ‘Handi-Cappuccino’ Shake.”
Viewers will essentially be taken for a ride as Anner experiences the ups and downs of traveling, experiencing what cities like Chicago, Los Angeles and New York have to offer all while being confined to a wheelchair.
Anner’s new show couldn’t come at a better time, either. Since its debut, Oprah’s network, OWN, has been perfoming rather poorly. So here's hoping Anner's new show can inject some much needed life into the struggling network.
