Bravo teases new Housewives-style reality series set in Hill Country
Andy Cohen, seen here with Kathy Hilton, announced the show at Bravo's summer upfronts.
Things in Boerne are about to get real messy. On Monday, May 11, Bravo announced a new Housewives-like series filmed in the Hill Country suburb, tentatively titled Secrets, Lies, Texas Wives.
"In the heart of Texas Hill Country is the picture‑perfect town of Boerne, where wealth, beauty, faith, and family reign supreme," reads the show’s description. "Centered on a tight-knit circle of glamorous women, this series follows their lives as they raise families, run ranches and farms, and manage sparkling social calendars in a town rooted in rodeos and tradition."
For now, the network is keeping most of the details under wraps, including the premiere date and the cast, but — like any show on the channel’s roster — Bravo promises some scandal.
According to the network, there will be “intimate relationships and forbidden romances that test loyalties and marriages.” We’re doubting the show will do a deep dive into Boerne’s frequent zoning battles.
This isn’t the first time that Bravo has mined the Lone Star State for drama. Real Housewives of Dallas ran between 2016 and 2021, scrapping a planned sixth season due to low ratings and a racism controversy involving some cast members. Texicanas, set in and around San Antonio, only lasted seven episodes in 2019.
Whether San Antonio will be in the spotlight again is yet to be seen. The Alamo City is about a 40-minute drive from Boerne (about the length of an episode of Teresa Giudice’s Namaste B$tches podcast) and has a few more restaurants and bars. Surely producers will want the cast to toss a few drinks at the new Monarch Hotel or the Fred’s Fish Fry on Zarzamora.
Either way, CultureMap San Antonio will be following the “wives” feverishly.
