June is here, and Austin’s music scene is kicking it off with a diverse and vibrant lineup of shows. See here for recommendations that span the first half of the month.

Flags at Hotel Vegas – Every Tuesday in June
Upstart punk rockers Flags, who put out a solid EP titled Bummer Summer late last year, have set up a residency at Hotel Vegas for every Tuesday this month. Each show will be $12 at the door, and support on these gigs is as follows.

• June 3 with Heavy Meddo and Leche
• June 10 with Magic Rockers of Texas, Mountasia, and Paper Sister
• June 17 with TILT and Campaigner
• June 24 with Hidden Floors and VVVOOOLLLUUUMMMEEE

Sagebrush Five-Year Anniversary – Friday, June 6
Two-step your way to Sagebrush this Friday, June 6, to celebrate the club’s fifth year of existence. There will be performances by Mayeux & Broussard, Matt Tedder, and Sentimental Family Band, plus advanced dancing lessons from Hill Country Two Step. Tickets are $15.

Redbud at Radio East – Saturday, June 7
Redbud’s noteworthy debut album, All Chorus, has been out for a few weeks, but the release show for it is only just now coming around. It’s happening at Radio East this Saturday, June 7. The indie pop act will be joined by Batty Jr. and Dorio. Tickets are $18.40.

Glaze Magazine at the Parish – Friday, June 13
Glaze Magazine will put on “License To Slay” at the Parish on Friday, June 13. The event, which is described as a “a high-stakes, high-glamour evening,” is meant to celebrate the imprint’s latest volume. Daiistar, Sad Cell, and more are set to perform, and there will be a fashion show. Tickets are $20.

Big Dumb Fest at the Mohawk – Saturday, June 14
Metalheads Rickshaw Billie’s Burger Patrol will host and play the third annual Big Dumb Fest at the Mohawk on Saturday, June 14. The stacked lineup also includes Gus Baldwin & the Sketch, The Grasshopper Lies Heavy, Gran Moreno, Bat Lips, Glime, and Subpar Snatch. You can also expect plenty of vendors, such as Grandpa’s Glizzys and Bad Larry’s Burger Club. Tickets are $28.

Austin Farm Sanctuary Fundraiser at Hotel Vegas – Saturday, June 14
Hotel Vegas will host a fundraiser for the Austin Farm Sanctuary’s Medical Fund on Saturday, June 14. TC Superstar, Fehrenbacher, and Cheetah Cheetah will perform, plus there will be a market, a silent auction, and more. Cover will be a suggested $5-10 donation at the door.
