Two Step Inn
Inaugural Two Step Inn brings Zach Bryan, '90s country, and a whole lot of people to Georgetown
The first ever Two Step Inn brought '90s country to Georgetown, along with a whole lot of people. 30,000 fans attended the country themed event each day, and while the festival took place in a smaller space with only three stages, it felt pretty much just like Austin City Limits (ACL) when it came to lines and viewing experience. It also looked a lot like ACL with C3 Presents producing the fest.
Headlining artists on the main stage were the draw for many festival attendees. Zach Bryan and Tyler Childers headlined the two-night event. The set up at this stage wasn’t ideal, however, with the entire front and side sections reserved for those who sprang for VIP tickets.
The Showdeo stage offered a much more enjoyable experience. Here, a stacked lineup of artists on both days took revelers back to the '90s. Diamond Rio, Little Texas, Jo Dee Messina, and more played their biggest hits, along with other '90s faves. Some throwback artists rocked the main stage as well, including Tanya Tucker, Travis Tritt, and Wynonna Judd.
Though we heard some grumbling from locals about the traffic, parking, and effect the event would have on the park, those we spoke with at the event loved having a music fest close to home. And it wasn’t only Central Texans who attended: We met fans who traveled from Maryland, New York, and the West Coast.
In addition to the '90s stage, there was a more alt-country stage featuring artists like Paul Cauthen, Diplo, and T-Pain, who also played a short set at the Chateau Ste. Michelle wine bar on Saturday afternoon.
Other festival highlights included the aforementioned wine bar, line dancing and two-step lessons, the Tito’s crane game (which you may also have seen at ACL), and plenty of fun photo ops.
All in all, the Two Step Inn festival was a success. Will Two Step Fest keep trucking along in 2024? We'll just have to wait and see.
