Where to Shop
Where to shop in Austin right now: 4 new stores we just can't live without
When it comes to ensuring a stylish 2016, we've rounded up our new favorite stops to add to your shopping rotation. These boutiques are perfect for unique finds, one-of-a-kind gifts, inspiration, and that much-needed "new year, new closet" refresh.
South Congress Hotel Shop
Staycation, anyone? The shop at South Congress Hotel is filled with custom in-room products, artist collaborations, and a curated selection of books, magazines, and gifts. Peruse items from local companies and designers like Cambria Handmade (which makes leather dopp kits and more) and Weige Knives, a custom knife company that's working with Paul Qui to design knives for his new concept Otoko (set to open in the hotel later this year). We're smitten with Matteo's coveralls and overalls as well as the vases and bowls by Concrete Cat. This boutique is open from 10 am until 8 pm seven days per week.
Cove
If you can't take a vacation to the tropics this winter, shopping at Cove is the next best thing. This upscale women's clothing and accessories boutique is now open on South Congress Avenue. The shop features high-end, resort-style apparel along with an eclectic mix of jewelry, accessories, and elegant home decor. Stop by and shop the latest arrivals from your favorite designers, including Kiini, Antik Batik, Cynthia Vincent, Eberjey, Nanette Lepore, Zimmermann, Rebecca Taylor, and more. You won't have a problem finding your spring must-haves at this new SoCo gem. Cove is open Monday through Saturday from 10:30 am to 7 pm, and Sundays from 11 am to 6 pm.
de Buci Baby
If you are looking for a swoon-worthy baby gift, Austin-based de Buci Baby is the chicest online shop you'll find. Owner and founder Maya Nairn came up with the shop's unique collection after spotting a void in the market while shopping for her own family. "I was mostly looking for baby gear that would blend in with the rest of my home," says Nairn.
The company's pieces are beautifully designed and well-crafted, and many of the fabrics are sourced from Japan and Europe. With the exception of the teddy bears, the products are crafted right here in Austin. The result is a high-quality product made in the U.S. that lasts through endless washes and multiple children. Be sure to check out the new website, and stay tuned as trunk shows are on the horizon.
Estilo Boutique
Visit Estilo at its new location in Tarrytown for the latest in women's wear and children's clothing. Whether you're shopping for something casual or a piece that will carry you from work to your next cocktail party, the selection here won't leave you disappointed. The boutique has introduced new international and domestic lines. Shop collections from designers like J Brand, Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent, Mara Hoffman, Equipment, Joie, Lanston, and Krisa Clothing.
The best part? This store opens early. Grab your coffee and head to the boutique at 8 am Monday through Friday, 9 am on Saturdays, and 11 am on Sundays.
