A Mother's Day surprise? Lauren Bush Lauren & Godiva team up
- The FEED 10 bags start at $25.
- The project, founded by Lauren Bush Lauren, hopes to fight against world hunger.
- Each bag is unique and handmade by Liberian women.
Mother's Day will be here before you know it. Want to get your mom something more substantial than a greeting card, more lasting than a bouquet of flowers and more interesting than a gift certificate?
Here's a gift that combines the philanthropic and the sartorial (and, optionally, the indulgent): FEED 10 bags.
Each colorful, batik, one-of-a-kind bag is handmade by Liberian artisan women, costs just $25 and provides school meals for 10 children.
The product is a partnership between FEED — a philanthropic feeding program founded and spearheaded by Houston-born Lauren Bush Lauren, who has dedicated her life to tackling world hunger — and Godiva Chocolates, which recently named Lauren its first National Lady Godiva Honoree.
Each colorful, batik, one-of-a-kind bag is handmade by Liberian artisan women, costs just $25 (or more if you add chocolates) and, fittingly, provides school meals for 10 children in cocoa-sourcing regions of the Ivory Coast and Ghana.
