Austin rockers Spoon team up with famous food truck for the ultimate taco
Veracruz All Natural and rock band Spoon have created the ultimate Austin taco. Meet El Norteño, a mix of homemade tortilla chips, red onion, poblano and red bell peppers, Monterey Jack cheese, and bacon (optional) served with a fried egg and your choice of tortilla.
Available exclusively at Veracruz through the end of March, proceeds from El Norteño sales go to American Gateways, a local organization that provides resources for refugees and immigrants.
The launch of the taco coincides with the release of Spoon's ninth album, Hot Thoughts, which drops March 17 during SXSW Music. You can catch the Austin-based band at a handful of performances peppered throughout the festival.
And you can get your hands on El Norteño at Veracruz's two food truck locations (East Austin and South Austin) or the Round Rock brick-and-mortar. The beloved taco truck will open its first Austin brick-and-mortar, near the intersection of Burnet Road and Research Boulevard, later this spring.
