Crawfish Roundup
Your head-to-tail guide to where to eat crawfish in Austin right now
Crawfish boils are the siren song of summer. Now that we're edging into that hot, hot, hot season, our favorite little mudbugs are proliferating all over town. Whether you're eating, buying, or just down for some beers and a boil, we've got copious options for your crawfish cravings.
Where to eat:
Big Easy Bar and Grill
Go east! The Big Easy has a boil every Wednesday through Sunday at noon. You can also catch live music Friday and Saturday nights.
Shoal Creek Saloon
This old guard Austin spot has a boil going (almost) all day, every day. Shoal Creek also hosts some pretty amazing daily happy hours.
ATX Boudain Hut
The hut serves free mimosas with brunch and hosts a boil every Saturday at both locations. When in season, there are also soft shell crab and frog legs.
Deckhand Oyster Bar
You'll get a little bit of a different flavor at Deckhand, with crawfish swimming in a peppery garlic sauce. It's different and decadent.
Crawfish Shack and Oyster Bar
Two locations, five flat-screen TVs, and free Wi-Fi. This adds up to a pretty damn good day.
Willie's Joint Bar and BBQ
Sure, it's in Buda, but the crawfish is free every Saturday — 200 pounds of the good stuff.
Comal Crawfish Company
Add this BYOB spot to your staycation trip down to New Braunfels. Get yours with a side of Brussels sprouts.
Where to buy:
Louisiana Wild
Louisiana Wild offers crawfish (whole and peeled) and boiling supplies.
Cajun Boils
Choose-your-own adventure with these guys — have them cater, or get crawfish delivered wholesale.

Large crawfish, purged and cleaned. You can also pick up house-made boudain and buckets of side dishes.
Austin Mudbugs
The mudbugs are harvested on Thursday morning, sacked up the same day, and shipped in a refrigerated truck that evening.
Quality Seafood Market
Buy crawfish by the sack, or skip the work and eat them in house at one of Austin's favorite dives.
Go Crawfish Austin
Pick your size, text your order, and pick them up behind Bombshells Bar. That's legit, folks.
