North Austin finally has a trailer food park: Say hello to The NATY
Hey North Austin, you wanted food trailers, and now you got ‘em. The North Austin Trailer Yard (affectionately called the NATY) is hosting their grand opening event Saturday May 12, 2012 from 1 p.m. - 9 p.m.
Traditionally, food trailer parks have been centered in South and East Austin, as well as downtown. The parks have a nostalgic, hipster-cool vibe that isn’t commonly found in the North part of town. Located at 1012 West Anderson Lane in Austin, TX (that's all the way up in 78757), the NATY aims to bring the funky fun feeling of the city’s food trailer parks up North. Covered seating, free wi-fi, restrooms, and unlimited parking are some of the park's amenities.
In addition to dining al fresco, one of the appeals of dining in pairs (or with a group) at a trailer park is the variety of food offered in one location. Snarky’s Moo Bawk Oink is the anchor and revolutionary behind this food trailer park concept. Serving slow-roasted tender sandwiches on baguettes or pitas, they are joined by four other trailers: Genuine Joe's (for coffee and smoothies), Big Fat Greek Gyros (traditional Greek food), The Dog Pound (hot dogs and snow cones) and Michi Ramen (authentic Japanese noodles).
You can be the first to try a little of everything at the NATY’s debut on May 12. They will have live music, great food and a miniature market area with local vendors. Just minutes from the Arboretum and I-35, the NATY is easily accessible to a diverse group of Austinites; beyond the grand opening, the NATY will offer breakfast, lunch and dinner.
