Windsor Park, get ready to get your buzz on. Cenote, the popular east side hangout, is opening a second location this summer at 6214 Cameron Rd.
Although technically still in East Austin, the new outpost is quite a ways from the original on East Cesar Chavez Street, which debuted in 2012. Co-owner Cody Symington says the Windsor Park neighborhood already feels like home.
"[The area] reminds us of how the Cesar Chavez and Holly neighborhood was when we first started at our original location, which basically has an old Austin feel, and we like that," Symington says.
The new spot is right on the intersection of Cameron Road and Highway 290 in the former Fran's Hamburgers building. Patrons can look forward to Cenote's fresh coffee drinks, breakfast bites, tacos, sandwiches, salads, and a thoughtful beer and wine list.
"It's a much bigger space ... but otherwise it's going to be very much the same. Menus will be the same; the only difference is we will have an expanded beer tap selection and a more limited bottle and can selection," Symington says.
The second Cenote will also have more parking and seating. The team is expecting to open by mid-August at the latest, Symington says.
