Downtown Austin restaurant announces it's closing but teases something new
Austin is overflowing with restaurant comings and goings. The latest news comes from Prelog's, the modern European eatery in the 360 Tower, which will close later this month.
Prelog's announced that it will close the downtown restaurant, located at 360 Nueces St., on Monday, August 29. But, notes the announcement, the closure is temporary. The team plans to reopen in a to-be-determined location.
"Chef-owner Flo Prelog and his wife Romana are currently searching for a new location in Central Austin where they can continue the success they have achieved with Restaurant Prelog's," reads the announcement. "The family treasures their amazing patrons and the Central Austin surroundings, where they are hoping to find a more intimate space befitting their vision."
In the meantime, the team will continue to provide catering services, private cooking classes, and in-home dining opportunities. Prelog is also working with Full Fridge, an Austin-based delivery service offering chef-created meals.
Prelog's took over the former Garrido's space in 2015 and gained a following for its contemporary cuisine and approachable happy hour. During its final days downtown, the restaurant will offer a closing specials, highlighted on Facebook.
