New Austin neighborhood hot spot Brentwood Social House sets opening date
Austin has no shortage of local coffee joints, but you'd be hard-pressed to find one that caters to kids. Family-friendly cafe Brentwood Social House hopes to fill that void when it opens on Koenig Lane this month.
"Living in Brentwood since 2012, I've gotten to know many of the neighbors and wanted to create a space for the community to gather," co-founder Suzanne Daniels says. "There has been so much positive reaction and support from the neighborhood. There really is no other family-friendly coffeehouse in Austin, and people seem eager for such a concept."
The space at 1601 W. Koenig Ln., which formerly housed Golden Bones boutique, required some updates for its next incarnation. Daniels and co-founder Sarah Olano outfitted it with a coffee counter and kitchen and will debut Brentwood Social House on Monday, November 14.
In addition to fresh coffee and tea, the menu will feature a selection of British- and French-inspired treats, such as crepes, pies, tarts, quiches, pasties, salads, and more. The kitchen is helmed by Olano, who hails from England and also operates Let's Get Pie.
All of these delicacies and more can be enjoyed in the main seating hall, a family-friendly spot with books and games for kiddos, a dedicated quiet space, or the quaint back patio. Each of the interior rooms can be rented for private events.
Brentwood Social House will be open Monday through Thursday, 7 am to 8 pm, and Friday and Saturday, 7 am to 9 pm.
