She's Actually Not Here
East Austin restaurant transforms downtown hot spot into boozy holiday pop-up

Those looking to dine at She’s Not Here won’t find her there ... at least during the holidays. The downtown hot spot is taking a winter break to make room for a month-long Old Thousand pop-up throughout December.
On November 25, Old Thousand announced it will settle into 440 W. Second St. from December 2 through January 1. In addition to serving Old Thousand’s “dope Chinese,” the space will make room for temporary bar Naughty List featuring over-the-top seasonal decor and a themed drink menu.
The pop-up will feature the full Old Thousand menu currently served on East 11th Street, plus a few greatest hits that have been rotated out over the years. OT executive chef Jeff Brown and sous chef Rhys Davis will also use the opportunity to preview new dishes from the upcoming second location opening on Burnet Road in December.
The Naughty List will be decked out in its holiday best, offering plenty of selfie opportunities, and a drink list of inventive seasonal cocktails dreamed up by beverage director Jake Finley.
Highlights include the Hot Cocoa-Nut with Stolen smoked rum, Sugar Island coconut run, peppermint, coconut milk cocoa, coconut whipped cream, and a candy cane garnish; the Heat Miser with Heritage BSB 103 Bourbon allspice dram, apple cider, and Bittermens Hellfire bitters; and the Gold Room with Western Grace brandy, vanilla, honey, egg, and nutmeg.
Holiday hours are 4-10 pm, Sunday through Thursday and 4 -11 pm, Friday and Saturday. Reservations can made through the restaurant website. The original east side Old Thousand location will remain open with regular hours.
