A toast to civility!
Texas Tribune toasts 2018 political festival with glam downtown cocktail party
What: TribFeast VIP Cocktail Reception
Where: Brazos Hall
The lowdown: One of the highlights of the Texas Tribune Festival is TribFeast, a multi-course dinner held in support of nonprofit journalism. Before this year's feast commenced, however, the evening's VIP's gathered at Brazos Hall to toast another weekend of civil political discourse.
A step-and-repeat gave guests an photo op — and an opportunity to sashay into the party. Once inside, the party was a mix of politicos such as Antonio Garza, former ambassador to Mexico; Texas senators Rodney Ellis and Kirk Watson; Rep. Eddie Rodriguez; and Rep. Chriss Paddie.
Austin's who's who was also in attendance, including Melba Whatley and Peter Mullan, who joined the Texas Tribune's CEO Evan Smith and executive editor Ross Ramsey.
Who: Antonio Garza, Melba and Ted Whatley, Peter and Melanie Mullan, Jessica Shortall, Mary Scott Nabers, Ed Edmonson, Shanny Lott, Gayle Pickering, Glenn Brown, Tracy LaQuey Parker, Eddie Rodriguez, and Dan Bullock.
