UPDATE: AT&T confirmed in a press release late Friday morning that it has reached an agreement with ESPN's Longhorn Network to provide customers the channel in time for kick off against Wyoming on Saturday, Sept. 1, at 7 p.m.
Friday morning, Longhorn fans who subscribe to AT&T U-verse woke up to an exciting new addition to their channel lineup.
It has been reported that the Longhorn Network (LHN), the ESPN-run network which was founded in 2011, has reached an agreement with AT&T and is now carried nationally by the cable provider.
LHN has not confirmed the agreement, but U-verse subscribers are reporting that the channel has appeared.
"On U-verse, LHN has popped up on Channel 1609, according to posts on Facebook and Twitter," reports Austin 360. "Some customers say they had to reset their systems in order to watch the network."
In the wake of the U-verse announcement, no announcements have surfaced as to whether Time Warner, Austin's largest cable provider, has reached an agreement with LHN.
The AT&T agreement marks only the second national agreement for LHN, reports KXAN.
