Southwest adds new nonstop flights from Austin to hot travel spots
Need a new fall vacation destination? Southwest Airlines announced new nonstop service between Austin and two hot travel spots — Seattle, Washington and Boston, Massachusetts.
Beginning November 1, travelers will be able to fly nonstop from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport to Seattle-Tacoma International and Boston Logan International.
"These new flights complement our breadth of service to key destinations that the Austin community has asked for," said Dave Harvey, senior director of network planning and performance, in a statement.
The two routes join Southwest's growing lineup of nonstop flights to popular destinations. The airline announced last year that the it will be reinstating daily nonstop service from ABIA to San Jose del Cabo, Mexico beginning June 7. In addition, Austinites can fly nonstop to Portland, Oregon; St. Louis, Missouri and Orange County, California starting June 28.
Southwest Airlines also revealed on Thursday that it is expanding nonstop service out of Houston's Hobby airport to Costa Rica, Mexico, Belize and Jamaica.
