comedy to catch
Don't miss this: NYC comics Lucas Molandes and Brooke Von Poppelen take overAustin all month
We’ve been missing Lucas Molandes, the brilliantly dark, acerbic stand-up comic crowned 2010's Funniest Person in Austin, since he moved to New York last year. And we’ve completely fallen in love with Brooke Van Poppelen, queen of anti-typical New Yorker sass, since catching her act while she was in town recording her forthcoming live album last fall. While Austin's comedy scene is fast growing, we wish these two were around town more.
Well, great news, you guys: Lucas and Brooke are back in Austin for a few weeks, gearing up for SXSW and putting on a bunch of amazing shows for your enjoyment. They’ll be appearing at Cap. City Comedy, Coldtowne, Cherrywood and Headhunters, plus Brooke will be on a SXSW Comedy showcase on March 15 and Lucas will be hosting the Austin Variety Show on March 17.
So many shows! You have no excuse for missing a chance to see these two (and you definitely won’t regret it — you’ll probably even be glad you can catch repeat performances).
