KVUE -- Family and friends said goodbye to a well-known radio reporter who died in a car crash.
Visitation for Barbara McCarley started at 3 p.m. Sunday in Lakeway.
The parking lot was full at Weed Corley Fish Funeral Home as people gathered to pay respects to McCarley.
The well-known reporter spent more than 14 years working at KLBJ-AM. Most recently, she covered the police and City of Austin beat.
"I think it's important that people know their loved one mattered. She mattered to a lot of people. She did a lot of great things. Through her work," said Austin Police Chief Art Acevedo.
"She was very passionate about what she did, but also constantly upbeat and smiling and a great personality energy to have at the radio station," remembered Scott Gilmore, VP and Market Manager at Emmis Radio.
McCarley died Wednesday morning. She was involved in a rollover wreck on Ranch to Market Road 2222. No charges were filed against the driver who caused the crash.
