SXSW Access
Exclusive SXSW Music wristbands on sale this week — for Austinites only

Get those typing fingers (and wallets) ready: SXSW Music wristbands go on sale for Austinites Thursday, January 28 at 10 am. This special deal, which includes access to most of the festival's music showcases, is only made available to local residents.
Wristbands cost $189 and can be purchased through the SXSW website. In order to buy a wristband, the credit card billing information must contain a ZIP code in the greater Austin area, which encompasses several surrounding towns. If you're unsure you live in an accepted ZIP code, you can double check ahead of time here.
Purchases will be limited to two wristbands per order: one for yourself (name must match credit card) and one for a lucky friend or family member whose name must also be provided at time of purchase. Wristbands are an even better investment in 2016 than years before as the festival is increasing the number of showcases that will admit badge and wristband holders only.
SXSW Music has revealed hundreds of artists on the bill for this year's festival. The most recent lineup announcement name dropped Tony Visconti, legendary producer to David Bowie and others, as the first music keynote speaker. Festivalgoers can also expect performances from Poliça, Crystal Castles, Bloc Party, Thee Oh Sees, Loretta Lynn, Har Mar Superstar, Thao and the Get Down Stay Down, Josh Kelley, and more.
SXSW Music runs Tuesday, March 15 through Sunday, March 20. To see the complete lineup so far, visit the SXSW website.
