Queen Bey is right
Beyoncé's next role: Joining Colin Farrell as an animated queen in Epic
After killing it in Atlantic City over Memorial Day, there's even more evidence that new-mom Beyoncé is back to the grind. Deadline is reporting that Queen B has signed on to star in Epic, a 3-D animated film by the makers of Ice Age and Rio.
Beyoncé stars as Queen Tara opposite Colin Farrell, Hunger Games' Josh Hutcherson, Amanda Seyfried and Steven Tyler. Perhaps there will be an Aerosmith-Beyoncé duet on the soundtrack? (Actually, let's not let that happen. That sounds awful.)
Deadline says the movie is about "a battle deep in the forest between the forces of good and evil. When a teenaged girl finds herself magically transported into this secret universe, she must band together with a rag-tag team of fun and whimsical characters to save that world, which in turn saves the real world."
Epic is scheduled to be released on May 24, 2013, which means that at 18 months old, Blue Ivy will probably have to wait a couple more years to see her mom onscreen. But still: Awwww.
After Epic, Beyoncé is also attached to the Clint Eastwood-directed A Star Is Born, tackling an updated version of the ingénue role previously held by Judy Garland, Barbra Streisand and Janet Gaynor. Looks like Bey has come a long way since Foxxy Cleopatra.
