Before it moves to Round Rock in 2017, the Nutty Brown Cafe is going out with a bang. The venue has just announced that the legendary Merle Haggard will kick up some dust on Saturday, November 14 for what is sure to be a memorable show.

If you're a country fan — or just a purveyor of good music — you shouldn’t pass up a chance to see a man — who is without exaggeration a trailblazer, a living legend, and to some, an aging sex symbol —  lovingly referred to simply as "The Hag."

He may be 78 years old but like his most current collaboration partner, Willie Nelson, he’s still a badass who can school the best guitar player and rip your heart out with his catalog of hit songs.

With nearly 40 No. 1 records under his belt and a career that spans more than five decades, there are few entertainers like Haggard. His latest record, a duet album with Nelson, was recorded at Austin's Arlyn Studios late last year. Django and Jimmie debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's country albums chart in June, and the two longtime friends and collaborators are doing performance dates together on the road this fall.

Tickets for Haggard’s November 14 show go on sale Friday, September 25, at 10 am on the cafe's website and at Front Gate Tickets. Carolyn Wonderland and Charlie Robison open.

Nutty Brown has a few other hard-hitting country shows lined up in the next few weeks including Eli Young Band with Chris Janson on October 17, Chase Rice with The Cadillac Three on October 22, and Randy Rogers Band with Wade Bowen on October 24.
