Blue Starlite Mini Urban Drive-in is on the move. The crew behind Austin's only drive-in theater is raising funds to relocate to 1510 Satterwhite Rd. in Buda, according to the Kickstarter.

"Because of development (ah, Austin!), we are losing our beloved home on East 51st Street next to the Austin Film Society. The good news is that we are already at work building our new permanent home, down south, on 4 acres of pristine Hill Country land," reads the campaign.

Blue Starlite started as a small, dozen-car experiment in East Austin and evolved into the 75-car destination on 51st Street. The new location will include a bar, more concession offerings, and nicer bathrooms. On the technical side, Blue Starlite hopes to upgrade the set-up with a larger screen, more speakers, and the capability to show 35 mm films. Perhaps the coolest addition is overnight accommodations ranging from tent camping to rentable cabins and RVs.

Blue Starlite's new digs could be open as early as February 3, 2017, to get ready for Valentine's Day programming and the third annual Harry Potter festival later that month. The current location in East Austin has screenings scheduled through early January.

The team hopes to raise $15,000 to fund the move; the campaign ends January 19, 2017.
