ROCK N ROLL AT THE PARK
Austin suburb rocks out with grand opening of new park this weekend
To commemorate the grand opening of the long-awaited Lakeline Park, the City of Cedar Park Parks and Recreation Department has planned a ‘90s concert with some indie rock legends.
The city will host the concert at the park’s performing arts pavilion in partnership with Lightstream Presents and KUTX on Saturday, April 29 from 4:30-8:30 pm.
Several legendary bands will perform throughout the evening, including Dinosaur Jr., Soul Asylum, and Austin’s favorite punk rockers A Giant Dog. Attendees can have their choice of food and refreshment from multiple food trucks, bars, and a beer garden.
The 200-acre Lakeline Park opened to the public in March, over a year and a half after construction began in August of 2021. The beautiful new park has three miles of trails, a playground with zip lines, a pier for fishing, spaces for kayak and canoe rentals, and more. The new pavilion overlooks the gorgeous lake.
Doors to the grand opening celebration will open at 2 pm on April 29. Tickets ($30-$60) can be purchased on etix.com.
