Dream pop band Cigarettes After Sex smokes into Austin on fall arena tour

Dream pop band Cigarettes After Sex will go on their first-ever arena tour, one which will take them around the world, including a stop at Austin's Moody Center on Friday, September 20.

Scheduled to kick off in Montreal, Quebec on August 31, the North American leg of the tour will travel to 24 cities, including four in Texas alone. In addition to Austin, they will play in San Antonio on September 17, Houston on September 18, and Fort Worth on September 21.

The tour is in support of their new album, X's, which is due to be released on July 12. The band's previous two albums didn't set the world on fire, each only reaching around No. 150 on the Billboard 200, but they did have a minor hit with "Apocalypse" in 2017.

The band has Texas roots, as leader Greg Gonzalez recorded their first EP while he was at his alma mater, the University of Texas at El Paso.

Tickets will be available starting with an artist presale beginning Tuesday, March 5 at 10 am local time for North American dates only. Additional presales will run throughout the week ahead of the general onsale beginning Friday, March 8, at 10 am local time at cigarettesaftersex.com.
