Built to Last
Margot Wolf and Cambria Handmade shine at By George as masters of craftsmanship
On Thursday, By George South Congress honored two local artists specializing in products designed to last a lifetime. Cambria Handmade and Margot Wolf Jewelry each held a day-long trunkshow within the store, bringing friends, family and fans to visit throughout the day to quite literally try the items on for size.
Margot Wolf is a master metalsmith and FIDM graduate who creates strong — almost defiant —jewelry inspired by geometry and nature (Fibonacci sequence, anyone?). For the occasion, she debuted a necklace cast from a flower pod, among other pieces, alongside her well known Shield, Absence and She Wolf rings.
Cambria Handmade has produced leather goods since the early-'90s, but launched professionally with By George in 2012. Made from deerskin, bison and cowhide leather that's sourced both locally and nationally, every Cambria product is sewn and hammered by hand resulting in buttery soft bags, dopp kits, clutches and iPad cases.
Margot Wolf and Cambria are carried at By George throughout the year and each are available for purchase online. While the designers will cost you a pretty penny, it's money well spent considering the artists want their customers to walk away with timeless, quality products, built to weather wear and improve year over year.
