Fresh and Fast
Amazon launches 1-hour grocery store delivery in Austin
Amazon is upping the ante with a new offering for Prime members. Beginning Wednesday, May 10, Amazon Prime Now will deliver groceries from Sprouts Farmers Markets to Austinites in one or two hours.
"Sprouts Farmers Market is the first grocery store available for ultra-fast delivery through Prime Now. The service also has tens of thousands products available for free two-hour delivery, including consumables such as ice cream, gummy bears, milk, and orange juice — all popular items purchased by Austinites," says an Amazon spokesperson.
How does it work? Amazon Prime members order from a specially curated list of Sprouts products that ranges from produce to beauty products. One-hour delivery costs $7.99 and two-hour delivery is free.
The Sprouts service — which is already in Dallas, Los Angeles, San Diego, and San Francisco — is available from 8 am to 10 pm daily in the Austin area. To check delivery availability, enter your ZIP code online or through the Amazon Prime Now app.
