Top 5 places to work in Austin revealed by local job search giant

Austin-based employment website Indeed has unveiled the top-rated workplaces in the Capital City, citing a major real estate firm, beloved grocer, and several tech giants as the area's best employers.
Indeed surveyed the top places to work in 12 U.S. cities by tapping into the 72 million ratings and reviews listed on Indeed Company Pages. (The list centers on firms with corporate or satellite offices in each metro area.) Austin and Houston are the sole Texas cities to appear in the list.
In Austin, recently named one of America's economic powerhouses, tech is still tops, with Facebook, Microsoft, and Apple appearing at Nos. 3, 4, and 5. But the two best places to work, according to Indeed, are Keller Williams Realty and H-E-B.
How did Keller Williams score the top spot? A real estate consultant tells Indeed that “their training is unmatched,” adding that “starting here is the best way to learn how to be an amazing agent.” Top Texas grocer H-E-B also placed first in Indeed’s Top-Rated Workplaces: Retail in 2017.
Interestingly, no energy companies make Indeed’s top five places to work in Houston. Rather two tech firms — SAP and Microsoft — top the list at No. 1 and No. 2, respectively. Rounding out the top five are construction company McCarthy Building Company, luxury apartment investment firm Camden Property Trust, and Discount Tire Company.
“Sprawling Houston provides ample opportunities for both construction and real estate investment,” according to Indeed. A consultant who works at Camden Property Trust tells Indeed that the Camden offers “sense of family” and great management. “The people at the top know what they’re doing and it shows,” he says.
