Screw swimsuit season: Austin Restaurant Week offers deals you don't want tomiss
Just when you think you can hunker down and start prepping your body for swimsuit season another foodie event comes along to thwart your efforts.
Austin Restaurant Week is upon us once again. This bi-annual event allows foodies to experience the best of Austin’s restaurant scene without breaking the bank, March 25-28 and April 1-4.
Restaurants like Uchi/Uchiko, Paggi House, Fino, Sullivan's Steakhouse and nearly 50 others will offer special prix-fixe menus designed exclusively for Austin Restaurant Week. Whether you are looking for an affordable three course dinner ($26-$36), two course lunch ($11-$16), or Sunday brunch ($16-$21) you’ll find it at one of the participating restaurants. Plus, the menus all come with a complimentary cocktail or non-alcoholic specialty drink.
You can chow down knowing you're helping the community even if you're not helping your waistline. A fixed dollar donation will go to Meals on Wheels and More, a local non-profit working to nourish and enrich the lives of the homebound and other people in need.
“Not only do you get to enjoy the finest restaurants in town for much less than you would normally spend, but you also help feed some of our community’s most vulnerable citizens”, says Dan Pruett, President and CEO of Meals on Wheels and More.
Austin Restaurant Week was created in 2008 to celebrate the city’s unique culinary scene. This year ARW is launching their iPhone/Android app detailing locations and special menus. The app will also allow you to book reservations which is highly encouraged.
So ditch the diet. These delicious deals (Uchi for under $100 - come on!) can't be missed.
