BBQ and Football
Famous Austin barbecue joint opens first-ever campus outpost

Nothing goes together quite like barbecue and football. Thankfully for Longhorn fans, that delicious combo will be available at UT this fall. Salt Lick BBQ is opening two concession stands at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium for the 2017 football season.
The stands will be located at level 1, section 30 and level 3, section 6. The menu will include a pulled pork sandwich, a chopped brisket sandwich, a sliced brisket sandwich, sloppy nachos, and a smoked sausage hot dog.
Football season begins September 2, with a home game against the Maryland Terrapins. The Longhorns have six homes games on the schedule, which means you have six chances to grub on 'cue at the stadium.
Salt Lick BBQ is one busy joint. In honor of its 50th anniversary, the famed barbecue restaurant announced a third standalone location in Grapevine, slated to open in 2018. The new 10,000-square-foot restaurant will be situated on a 10-acre wooded property.
The Salt Lick BBQ team is also in the process of building a unique development, announced in 2016, on owner and pitmaster Scott Roberts' family land next to the original restaurant. The aptly named Driftwood will feature a housing community, mixed retail and restaurant space, boutique hotel and spa, winery, and commercial town center.
