The party doesn’t stop in Austin, and honestly, we may not want it to. As South by Southwest comes to an end, there are even more reasons to celebrate as we welcome St. Patrick’s Day.
What started as a religious holiday has now become a national celebration of Irish culture and perhaps the only acceptable day to wear that many green accessories. Austin is gearing up for a Sunday filled with live music, beer, and lots of fun for all ages.
Whether you’re looking for some family-friendly festivities, an excuse to be day drink, or all of the above: Here’s a list of 10 events for St. Patrick's Day that you won’t want to miss.
South by Saint Patrick’s
Saturn Cocktail Club
Bid farewell to South by Southwest at this unofficial party and celebrate St. Patrick’s with flash tattoos, drink specials, and live performances by six bands including Scarlet Parke, San Antonio's Retro Cowgirl, and Austin’s own The Klinks. The party starts at 7 pm and tickets ($15) are available on Eventbrite.
St. Patrick's Day at BD Riley’s
BD Riley’s Irish Pub
If you want to keep it classic and avoid green beer, what better way than to celebrate at Austin’s older Irish pub? The party starts at 12:30 pm with live Irish music from Daithi Arwine, followed by some non-specific "Irish tunes," The Kristen Gibbs Band, and The Yokes. The staple pub menu is full of Irish favorites including breakfast all day.
St. Patrick's Day Pub Crawl
Blind Pig Pub
Don your best green accessories and join the largest St. Patrick’s Day pub crawl in downtown Austin. You’ll get discounted drinks at 10+ participating bars, welcome shots at selected venues, and a whole lot of fun. Check-in is held at the Blind Pig Pub from 1-4 pm. Chill Out Eat a Pickle Party
Hotel Vegas
Hotel Vegas is keeping Austin weird with the return of its one-of-a-kind Pickle Party to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. Enjoy an impressive lineup of 10+ live performances and DJs, tattoos by Don Tooker, food specials, and of course, free Grillo pickles, pickle back shots, and green jello shots. This event is free to attend. Doors open at noon.
Vista Brewing St. Patrick’s Day Party
Vista Brewing – Driftwood
For more family-friendly fun, join Vista Brewing in the the beautiful Hill Country with live music from local Soul/Americana band Graham Wilkinson Band starting at 2 pm. There will also be a gold coin scavenger hunt for the little ones, food specials, and $15 pitchers of Barton Creek Gold Blond Ale.
Luck of the Irish Buzzy Brunch
Blue Owl Brewing
Wash away the weekend hangover with a boozy St. Patrick’s Day-themed brunch at Blue Owl Brewing. Enjoy plenty of drink specials like 2-for-$10 slushies, pints of green beer, a DIY michelada station, and snacks from the on-site kitchen.

This Eastside brewery is putting its own twist on St. Patrick’s Day with a bangers-and-mash cookout. There will be frozen Irish coffee, Irish Extra Stout, and green tea jello shot specials. The festivities start at 3 pm with live music from band Whiskey on a Sunday, followed by Think Lizzie.
St. Patty’s Day Party at Pluckers
Pluckers — Round Rock and Killeen
Pluckers is turning its North Austin locations green for St. Patrick’s Day. In Round Rock, the party starts at noon with live music and DJs, while the Killeen location is amping up the family-friendly fun with a petting zoo, bouncy house, face painting, and balloon twisters. Both will have plenty of green beer on hand.

Punch Bowl Social — Domain and downtown
Punch Bowl Social is partnering with Irish Whiskey brand Tullamore D.E.W. to bring out the fun for St. Patrick’s, with plenty of drink and drink specials. Test your luck by trying to find the hidden pot of gold, which can be exchanged for fun prizes. Visitors can also enjoy the many classic arcade games, bowling, or karaoke. Stay active this St. Patrick’s Day with a themed run that is perfect for the whole family. Choose your own run adventure with the 5K, 10K, and lucky 13.1K options with live timing and a finisher medal. Children 10 and under can participate in their own kids' dash.
