RunTex merchandise and memorabilia to be auctioned to pay debts
KVUE – Mark your calendar for May 7. That’s the day the Travis County Constable Office is auctioning off everything that is left inside the RunTex stores after owner Paul Carroza was forced to vacate the Riverside store two weeks ago.
Travis County Tax Assessor-Collector Bruce Elfant told KVUE News Monday that Carroza was $17,000 behind in property taxes.
Items to be auctioned include a Ford pickup truck, posters, a signed jersey from Lance Armstrong, running shoes from former President George W. Bush, and a signed portrait of Carroza with music great Willie Nelson. There’s also an ice-machine and hundreds of boxes of running shoes to name a few.
Elfant also told KVUE News that there is no estimate on how much the items are expected to fetch at next week’s auction, however, the constable did say that state law says the county is first in line of a number of debtors, including the landlord.
