Former University of Texas football players indicted on sexual assault charges

KVUE — A Travis County grand jury has indicted two former University of Texas at Austin football players on sexual assault charges.
Montrel Meander and Kendall Sanders are each charged with sexual assault, and Sanders faces an additional charge of improper photography.
The charges stem from an incident in the early morning hours of June 21 at the San Jacinto dormitory. A student accused Meander and Sanders of sexually assaulting her in Meander's dorm room on the night of June 20 after the three returned from a night out on Sixth Street.
Sanders, 20, a junior from Athens, Texas and Meander, 19, a sophomore wide receiver from Amarillo, Texas have both been suspended from the UT football team indefinitely, according to Texas coach Charlie Strong.
