New nonstop flight from Austin to hot West Coast destination takes off

Just days after Alaska Airlines announced new nonstop service from Austin to San Jose, California, the company has added another flight to the schedule. Starting August 27, 2017, Alaska Airlines will run daily nonstop service to San Diego.
Flights will depart Austin-Bergstrom International Airport at 8:30 am and arrive at San Diego International Airport at 9:30 am. Return flights will take off from San Diego at 6:55 pm and land in Austin at 11:35 pm. Fares starts as low as $183 for a one-way ticket.
This is one of Alaska Airlines' seven new nonstop San Diego routes. The San Jose service, which launches August 28, was part of 13 new routes for the Bay Area. The airline acquired Virgin America three months ago and is aggressively growing its West Coast footprint.
In addition to these two California flights, Alaska Airlines operates two other nonstop destinations out of Austin: Seattle and Portland, Oregon.
