Austin-Bergstrom International Airport is gaining more nonstop service to a vacation hotspot in Southern California.

On June 13, low-cost Frontier Airlines plans to launch four-day-a-week service between Austin-Bergstrom and San Diego International Airport. Alaska and Southwest airlines already provide nonstop service between the two cities.

Frontier’s flights between Austin and San Diego are scheduled for each Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.

Here are the times:

• Austin to San Diego: Depart at 8:06 pm Central time, arrive at 8:58 pm Pacific time.
• San Diego to Austin: Depart at 7:59 am Pacific time, arrive at 12:58 pm Central time.

Frontier is offering a $59 introductory one-way fare for the new route. To take advantage of this promotion, tickets must be purchased by March 31. Fares are valid for nonstop travel from June 13 through August 18. Blackout dates are July 3, 5, and 6.

March has been a busy month for Frontier, which also just launched nonstop service from Austin to Orlando (MCO), Chicago (ORD), Cincinnati (CVG), and Phoenix (PHX).

The Frontier experience will also change for travelers in 2026 when the Austin airport is under construction to expand. Frontier and Allegiant Airlines currently operate out of the South Terminal, which will close during the expansion; both will relocate to the main Barbara Jordan Terminal.
