Healthy Austin Eats
Austin's 25 healthiest restaurants for guilt-free dining

Need a break from deep-fried, booze-soaked, carb-heavy meals? There's a new guide to the best Austin restaurants that are delicious and nutritious.
Tasteful, a food finder app, and REAL Certified, a restaurant certification program, have partnered on the REAL25 initiative to highlight the 25 healthiest eateries in each city, starting with Austin.
The list was determined by a national panel of industry and academic experts who analyzed a variety of factors, including ingredients, sourcing, dietary restrictions, preparation methods, and portion size. It was then approved by a local advisory board featuring Laura Lewis (creator of HypNutrition), Clara Di Vincenso (Sparkman and Associates Nutrition Counseling), Chris Hightower (Court of Master Sommeliers), and Bonnie Bishop (local musician and home chef).
You'll find everything from fine dining to food trucks on the list. Uchi and qui represent the high-end restaurant scene, while Conscious Cravings, The Vegan Nom, and The Vegan Yacht proudly represent Austin's food trailer culture. Bouldin Creek Cafe, Counter Culture, Mother's Cafe and Garden, and Mr. Natural are standouts for those who prefer meatless dishes, while Picnik Austin shines for its Paleo offerings.
