Central Texas meteorologist shot at TV station returns to the air
A Central Texas meteorologist has returned to the air just one month after being shot in a TV station parking lot. Patrick Crawford, a morning show meteorologist for KCEN in Bruceville/Eddy (near Waco), was shot multiple times on December 17, 2014.
Crawford returned to the station Monday for the morning broadcast, according to a report from KCEN. "I timed my comeback very nicely with today's forecast," he joked. "We've got great weather today. We can expect the warm weather we saw over the weekend to return again today."
Initial reports of the incident said that Crawford and the suspect exchanged words before the suspect pulled out a semi-automatic handgun and fired several shots. Crawford was taken to Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Temple where he underwent surgery.
The suspect in the shooting is still at large. The Falls County Crime Stoppers is offering a $20,000 reward for information leading to the capture and conviction of the man who shot Crawford, reports KCEN.
