Stretch It Out
New yoga studio stretches into East Austin with free classes
Getting in shape is as easy as getting to East Austin. Stretch Yoga Studio opened December 2 with free yoga classes through the month.
Located at The Arnold, a mixed-use development on East Sixth Street that houses Royal Blue Grocery and soon-to-be Blenders and Bowls, Stretch's goal is to make yoga accessible to yogis and newbies alike.
"In my experience as a yoga teacher I've found that people who have never or rarely practiced yoga but aspire to practice are either intimidated by classes that are too traditional or not interested in classes that are just a workout," said owner and certified teacher Kaysha Patel in a statement. "I wanted to create a space that is a happy and fun medium for anyone, but especially for the 'non-yogi.'"
In December, every class is free. Vinyasa-based classes, held in a 80-85 degree room, are categorized as Stretch (basic class), Power Stretch (which focuses on strength), and Gentle Stretch (a more relaxing experience). Guests can enjoy complimentary tea and coffee, as well as a lavender-infused face towel after class.
In addition to December's deal, Stretch is offering a 60-day package for $60 through January 15, 2017. A regular membership is $88 per month. Drop-in rates are $15 per class. You can purchase a five-class pass for $70.
Space is limited in the free December classes, so reserve your spot now. Stretch will celebrate its grand opening in the new year.
