Name: Black Tusk
Genre: Metal
In one sentence: This band's brand of blistering "swamp metal" is sure to invigorate even the most tired SXSW soul.
Why we chose them: Not only do they share a label (Relapse) with the likes of Brian Posehn, Toxic Holocaust, Pig Destroyer and Zeke, to name a few, they also hail from the hotbed of metal that has spawned Baroness and Kylesa. That's enough street cred for all of Red River and the east side combined.
SXSW official show: 1 am on Thursday, March 13 at Quantum Lounge
