Keep your eyes peeled, Austin, because celebrity-spotting is in season. Deadline reports that Pierce Brosnan will begin filming a new Texas-sized television show in Austin this month.

The Son is a series based on local author Philipp Meyer's 2013 novel of the same name. The story follows three generations of a Texas family as they deal with changing social and industrial landscapes at the turn of the century.

In this Lone Star epic, Brosnan plays the role of Eli McCullough, the family's patriarch who was kidnapped by the Comanche at a young age and goes on to create a business empire.

The former James Bond actor replaces Sam Neill (Jurassic Park, The Piano) as the lead. Neill backed out due to personal reasons. Other names tied to the project include Henry Garrett, Zahn McClarnon, Paola Nuñez, and Sydney Lucas.

According to Deadline, filming in Austin and around Central Texas will begin sometime in June. The first season of The Son is expected to air on AMC in 2017.
