If you're looking for true love: The Princess Bride Quote-Along (a live PrinceHumperdink included!)

Beware of the screeching eels and verbose Cecilians! The chilly weather and approaching holidays make it high time for a Princess Bride quote-along, complete with feast and festivities. The special event will also feature a very princely guest: Humperdiiiiiiink! That’s right. Chris Sarandon will be in attendance in all his eternal suffering and villain-ness.

The evening will begin with a feast fit for a king (or evil prince) with a meal prepared by Alamo Drafthouse’s Chef Bullington. Designed to awaken the taste buds of even the mostly dead, the dinner will feature mutton and roast, screeching eel salad, seared R.O.U.S. and Twue Wuv Twuffles (all iocaine powder free).

The hearty meal serves as appropriate sustenance for the epic storybook journey. Before the quote-a-long, the Drafthouse will also host a “rescue Princess Buttercup” game. Additionally, you can also get your 20-inch Fezzik sized Bottle of Wits before (or after) the show — the spirits of unusual size will be sold for $175.

At 8 p.m. sharp, the battle of wits will begin. The main event, the The Princess Bride Quote-Along, will be an apt challenge for every Bride aficionado who claims to have the entire movie memorized by heart. Don’t worry, for the not-as-die-hard fans there will be karaoke-style subtitles so everyone can enjoy sensually whispering “as you wish” into their neighbor’s ear. And, of course, swords will be handed out (you know when) for the dramatic sword exchange.

After our heroes ride off into the sunset, Prince Humperdink himself will pay his appropriate penance, suffering a full dose of audience questions. And, who knows, ladies? Maybe he’s still looking for a bride?
