sounds good
The Black Keys, Ben Kweller, and 350 more music acts join SXSW 2024 lineup
Even as Austin is just getting over its first freeze, we're feeling the springtime thaw creep on the back of South by Southwest (SXSW). The schedule announcements are nearly all made, if past years are any indication, and we have two new lists of strong speakers and musical performers.
We already know quite a bit about what's in store, including visits from Everything Everywhere All At Once, Jane Fonda, and Jennette McCurdy; a showing of Ryan Gosling's new movie; and hundreds of musical performances. Browse everything we know with the popular stuff highlighted in our SXSW editorial series, or start setting up your schedule at sxsw.com. For just the new info, read on...
The announcement on January 24 was the third round of musical programming, with some of the biggest names yet. Many fans will recognize blues revivalists the Black Keys, former bassist Bootsy Collins of Parliament-Funkadelic, indie rock band STRFKR, and hip-hop duo Flyana Boss (who have quickly gained traction lip syncing while running through various environments on TikTok).

Folks who just want to catch these musical showcases can do so by purchasing a badge just for the Music Festival ($890), which takes place from March 11-16. Austin residents (with a billing address ZIP Code in the Greater Austin area) get a discount by purchasing a music wristband, but badges get priority; That means they might get shut out of very popular shows. [UPDATE as of January 29:] Wristbands for the Music festival ($149) are on sale now.
SXSW will be held across many venues in Austin from March 8-16. Registration for badges (Music, Film & TV, Interactive, and Platinum) is open now at sxsw.com.
