If basic pepperoni isn't enough to satisfy your pizza cravings, then you're in luck, because another make-your-own pizza chain has hit town.
Now open in the Mueller development, Pieology Pizzeria promises totally customizable pies. The journey starts with an 11.5-inch crust, to which several toppings — including more than 40 unique sauces, fresh veggies, savory meats, and cheeses — can be added. If the ingredient list is overwhelming, there's a lineup of standard pies to choose from as well as several salad options.
The Austin spot marks the third Texas location, with two successful outposts operating in Cedar Park and San Marcos. The latest Lone Star locale is part of the California-based company's rapid expansion plan, which calls for more than 200 Pieology locations by the end of the year.
"Our [Texas] locations have performed well above expectations, and we're confident our new Austin guests will love the Pieology experience as well," said franchise owner, Frank Kalil, in a release. "We're excited to serve our newest Texas community."
The make-your-own pizza trend has seen a surge in popularity lately, and Pieology isn't even the first restaurant of its kind in Mueller. Last year, competitor MOD Pizza opened a nearby spot in addition to multiple locations throughout Austin.
Pieology's hours are Sunday through Thursday from 11 am to 9:30 pm, and Friday and Saturday from 11 am to 10:30 pm.
