Closing Time
Popular Rainey Street restaurant and bar closes its doors
Austin's latest round of restaurant closures continues with a Rainey Street shutter.
No Va Kitchen & Bar will close its doors Saturday, June 3. The family-run restaurant has been serving modern American fare and late-night cocktails in the popular corridor for four years.
"Our first priority is to find new career paths for all of our staff. They are the backbone of this restaurant and we want the best for them," says Lorenzo Laurel, director of operations, in a release. "We especially want to thank all of our customers. We will miss them."
Laurel's family owns the property at 87 Rainey St. and is currently looking for a new tenant to join the neighborhood.
"Over the years, we have become like family with our neighbors on the street, and we want to find a quality business that will stay true to Austin to operate," says Laurel.
NoVa will be saying farewell in style. The eatery is offering food specials and 50 percent off of wine now through June 3.
