After five years as a South Lamar staple, Bryce Gilmore's iconic Barley Swine is relocating to North Austin. Details of the move to 6555 Burnet Rd., announced Monday, signal a big shift in the restaurant's concept.

"While the moniker will remain the same, much will change conceptually," notes a press release.

At the new Barley Swine, expect double the seating — room for 80 guests — and a Chef's Garden Table. In addition to the tasting menu, the restaurant will feature a selection of small plates. Drink options are changing, too. The new location boasts a full bar and seasonally focused cocktails.

"Barley Swine was always built to evolve, and this move is part of that plan. I’m very excited to further let my team grow in a new space that gives us more room to do so," said Gilmore.

The official move is still months away; a target date is set for late fall 2015. Until then, patrons can dine at the charming South Lamar location. When the move is complete, the current space will be used for private and special events.

"We’re very excited to move into North Austin and hope our longtime regulars will come make the journey with us; and we’re also excited to meet new diners who never made the trek south," Gilmore said.
