New Restaurant Alert
Highly anticipated East Austin Mexican restaurant announces opening date

More delicious dining news for East Austin: Grizzelda's, the upscale Mexican concept from the team behind Jacoby's Restaurant & Mercantile, will open Wednesday, November 30. The restaurant is located at 105 Tillery St., across from Jacoby's.
"Grizzelda's is the next step in growing our restaurant family," says owner Adam Jacoby, a CultureMap Top Texan Under 30, in a release. "We made a commitment to the east side when we opened Jacoby's Restaurant & Mercantile, and we couldn't be more excited to open our doors and welcome in the entire community."
Grizzelda's menu boasts broad Mexican influences, from Tulum (think crudo) to Mexico City (molé); other highlights include tostadas and tacos, as well as Tex-Mex standards like guacamole and queso. As can be expected, Jacoby Brand Beef and other meats from the Jacoby family ranch in Melvin, Texas, will be featured. Executive chef Albert Gonzalez and chef de cuisine Austin Ewald will oversee Jacoby's and the new endeavor.
Tequila and mezcal star in several drinks, from traditional margaritas to creative concoctions. The Bidi Bidi, Bom Bom features tequila, yuzu, hot sauce, and egg white.
Mexican flavor permeates the look of Grizzelda's too, which incorporates everything from traditional art to neon lights. "Jacoby's was designed for guests to feel like they're going home, while dining at Grizzelda's is like going on vacation," creative director Kris Swift says.
Grizzelda's will be open for dinner service Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday, 5 to 10 pm, and Friday and Saturday, 5 pm to midnight.
