Ready for Take-off
2 new nonstop flights take off from Austin for only $69 each way
Since the start of 2017, five new nonstop flights have been tacked on to the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport schedule.
The latest additions are courtesy of Frontier Airlines, who will provide nonstop service to Washington and San Diego this spring. As can be expected from this low-cost, Denver-based carrier, introductory fares for both cities are as low as $69 one way.
Beginning April 21, nonstop service between Austin and Washington Dulles International Airport will be available Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. Flights from Austin will depart at 7 am; Washington flights will take off at 12:25 pm and land in Austin before 3 pm.
The San Diego International Airport service, which is slated to take off on April 23, will run Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. Flights from Austin depart at 8 am; flights from San Diego will leave around 10 am and land by 2:45 pm.
If you nab a seat on one of these flights, keep your eyes peeled on the tarmac. Every plane in the Frontier fleet is named after a whimsical animal, with matching images on the tail to boot.
