oh the horror
Drafthouse Films gets flushed; announces final entry in The ABC's of Death: 26Letters, 26 Ways to Die
Yesterday, Drafthouse Films announced the 26th and final letter to be added to the upcoming horror anthology, The ABC's of Death: 26 Letters, 26 Ways to Die.
The Drafthouse explains, "The ABC's of Death is an ambitious anthology film featuring segments directed by over two dozen of the world's leading talents in contemporary genre film. Inspired by children’s educational ABC books, the motion picture is comprised of 26 individual chapters, each helmed by a different director assigned a letter of the alphabet. The directors were then given free reign in choosing a word to create a story involving death."
The final short for the 26th letter ("T") was chosen from a pool of online submitted videos and then selected by the 25 other directors.
Together, they chose something truly wonderful: Toilet.
In the winning short, U.K. director/animator Lee Hardcastle shows a twisted piece of claymation about a young boy learning to use the toilet for the first time.
If the 26th letter is any indication of what to expect from the rest of the film—and I anticipate it is—Drafthouse Films and their partners have crafted a spectacular horror anthology.
Congratulations to Hardcastle; watch his winning entry below.
