Austin's Hottest Ticket
Paul Qui's exclusive new Austin restaurant sets long-awaited opening date
After months of anticipation, Paul Qui's newest restaurant, Otoko, finally has an opening date. The exclusive 12-seat restaurant located at the South Congress Hotel will debut in March.
Otoko will serve Tokyo-style sushi and Kyoto-style kaiseki, Japanese cuisine featuring intricate, chef-driven dishes created by Qui and his head chef Yoshi Okai. The multi-course omakase menu is available for $150 per person. Sake, beer, wine, or non-alcoholic beverage pairings can be added for an additional cost.
This reservations-only restaurant is poised to become a hot ticket for Austinites and visitors alike. Two dinner seatings will be available Wednesdays through Saturdays, and reservations are released on a month-to-month basis. Group reservations can be made for up to four guests; larger groups can inquire about private dinners.
Reservations for March will open to the public on Monday, February 8. Those who subscribe to Otoko emails can make reservations on Friday, February 5, ahead of the general public.
For such a small space, Otoko already has a big reputation. In late 2015, Food & Wine magazine named the soon-to-open eatery one of its must-try dining destinations.
