Rejoice! Beloved Austin pizza joint opens on Rainey Street this week
Fans of Salvation Pizza, rejoice! The campus-area restaurant that has been serving New Haven-style pizza for almost a decade is opening a second location.
Tucked away on bustling Rainey Street, Salvation's newest location will continue to serve the thin crust, traditional pies that made it famous, but with an expanded menu of appetizers, salads, sandwiches, calzones and desserts. Patrons can also look forward to a full bar complete with specially made craft cocktails and an extensive craft beer list.
"Since opening our doors eight years ago, we have hoped to grow as a company. As we take the first step in that direction, we could not be happier than to move into such a lively neighborhood," said owner Michael Dinsmore. Salvation now joins famed Via 313 on Rainey Street, turning the area into a pizza mecca of sorts.
Salvation's newest shop at 51 Rainey St. will offer delivery services to the Texas State Capitol and downtown, as well as parts of the east side and South Austin. It officially opens on Thursday, February 5.
