New boozy bakeshop sweetens up Austin's Mueller district
Bribery Bakery's second location is now cooking: The new Mueller bakeshop opened its doors Thursday.
Billed as a "true bakery-cafe," the East Austin locale has a larger menu than the original spot in Wells Branch. In addition to pastry chef Jodi Elliott's signature delights like hearty cinnamon rolls, decadent pop tarts, and chocolate chunk pecan cookies, the Mueller location is serving up savory avocado hummus toast, chicken and dumplings, and kid-friendly lunch dishes.
Oh, and there's booze too. Bribery currently serves wine and craft cocktails such as the Franny (vodka, rosemary, blood orange, bubbles) and the Zooey (apple brandy, cherry liqueur, cinnamon, lavender). Expect more plated desserts, savory options, and adult beverages in the future.
The original location of Bribery Bakery, which opened last year, will maintain its emphasis on coffee and pastries. The Mueller location's hours are limited for now, but the team will launch evening and extended weekend service soon. Until then, swing by for a morning treat, light lunch, or post-work bubbly.
Bribery Bakery in Mueller is open Thursday and Friday from 7 am to 6 pm and Saturday from 8:30 am to 3 pm.
